Romans 1:20 tells us, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” (NIV) From about verse 18 to the end of chapter one Paul, who wrote this letter to the Romans, is giving reasons why there is no excuse to disobey God and not see His qualities which are made known in nature.
When I look at nature and wildlife I see the beauty and complexity of every detail. What I see gives me reason to believe that there must be some intelligent design behind it all. My photography is an attempt to capture that intelligence and portray its resulting beauty and complexity. The Bible’s account of God’s creation of the world tells us that He created us in His image and left His fingerprints evident in His creation (Genesis 1 and Romans 1:20). With God as the master artist, my pictures capture the fingerprints He’s left in his creation that give us no excuse.
